Taylor Trowbridge comes to Diamond Fever from Houghton College in NY where she dominated the softball field and the classroom until her graduation. With her husband, Taylor has moved to our area this fall and will be available for Diamond Fever team practices and one-on-on lessons, beginning now until January. She will return to Houghton to coach the softball team during the spring season, but she will be back for Diamond Fever and her players in May. Whether you are a Diamond Fever player or not, Taylor is here to help you take your game to the highest level possible.
Taylor graduated with a degree in Biology Pre-Physical Therapy and a minor in psychology and athletic training. On the field, Trowbridge was a utility player (pitcher, shortstop, second, third base) and holds 9 Houghton Softball records (career marks for runs, hits, RBI, doubles, home runs, walks, batting average, slugging percentage and on-base percentage). She was a three-time Empire 8 All-Conference selection (2017-19) and twice named to the NCCAA All-Midwest Region Team (2017, 2019).
At the culmination of her Houghton career, Trowbridge received the Velma H.M. Hewson Excellence Award—the highest honor bestowed upon a Houghton female athlete based upon athletic achievements, academic excellence, and a track record of Christian character and service to others.
Trowbridge is currently an assistant coach for the Houghton Softball team and is available for private hitting, fielding, and pitching/ catching lessons. As a college coach and private lessons coach, Taylor is well versed in multiple positions at various age/ ability levels.
